ENINAS ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION AT TIJARIA TOWER

I was waiting for a reason to visit the Tijaria Tower and I was excited when I came to know about the Eninas Art and Photography Exhibition. It was held from 1st May to 6th May at the Tijaria Tower, from 7 pm to 10 pm. I visited the exhibition on Sunday 5th May.  Tijaria Tower is one of my favorite landmarks in Kuwait, purely for its architectural splendor that is so unique. I've blogged about it earlier. It looks so grand in the day time and at night, it magically appears to look like a space age building -  absolutely amazing. May be I feel this way because I am fascinated by art and architecture.

Back to the exhibition, it was held on the 25th floor of the tower. The gallery was huge. I think the whole floor was taken up to hold the exhibition. Paintings and photographs displayed were unique, done by various talented artists. Almost all the paintings and photographs had a story to tell which makes the viewer not only admire the colors, theme and creativity but also helps us understand and appreciate  their paintings even more. Each artist was given their own space to exhibit their work. It was breathtaking experience because no. 1, the paintings and photo exhibits were fabulous, no. 2, the exhibits were displayed in the gallery with huge glass windows all around from floor to ceiling and you can see the Kuwait city shimmering with lights from the huge glass windows of the gallery from the 25th floor.

TATOO - KAMI SAMA

Two weeks ago, I was lunching at a Chinese restaurtant and the lady who served me had this tatoo on her lower right arm above her wrist 神様. I asked her, what does it say and what is it supposed to mean. She told me it's Kami-sama which means 'God' in Japanese kanji script. Kanji script has it's origins in China.

WEIGHT LOSS - SIR PETER JACKSON WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS

A few years ago, Sir Peter Jackson, New Zealand film director, producer, screenwriter made headlines when he lost 70 pounds in just one year and looked ten years younger. He looked like a totally different person. He told the Daily Telegraph,  "I just got tired of being overweight and unfit, so I changed my diet from hamburgers to yoghurt, muesli and soup,  it seems to work,". Jackson's amazing weight loss success and his huge transformation was the result of  his resolve to completely make a lifestyle change towards healthier eating. 

Sir Peter Jackson, is known for his timeless classics like The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit adapted from the novels by the same name by J.R.R. Tolkien.  His other films include King Kong, Heavenly Creatures, The Frighteners, Forgotten Silver, Dead Alive/Braindead, The Lovely Bones. He has produced District 9, West of Memphis, and Adventures of Tintin: The secret of the unicorn. 

When we look at overweight people who have been totally successful at losing weight and looking healthy and fabulous, it's an inspiration for those aspiring to lose weight. Their story  is a promise that weight loss would take time, but it's definitely possible if you make a firm resolve to make a life style change and eat mindfully and exercise. 

INDULGING IN NATURE AND IT'S BEAUTY IS ENERGIZING

We might prefer to live in the city, occupied with our busy lives. Stress and responsibilities can take a toll  and that's when we wish to feel grounded, energized, peaceful and in charge of our lives. Whenever possible, attune yourself with nature, observe the plants, flowers, trees, grass, sand around you. You don't have to wait until you feel stressed and depleted of your energies to do this. We belong to nature, we are an integral and important part of it, and whenever we are amidst nature, we can feel the huge difference it brings to our psyche.

I was at the KOC Dental clinic yesterday and when I was leaving, I noticed a small landscaped area beside the Dental Clinic. The landscape was mostly full of cactus with beautiful yellow flowers. The bright green cactus with vibrant yellow flowers had an instantaneous uplifting effect on me. Here are some photos I took.

I was at Top Shop in Avenues and besides the ongoing sale, what caught my attention was the resting mannequins in a lying down position on slanting support. Artistic displays and shop decors are an important feature and customers enjoy innovative and interesting ideas which makes shopping a pleasant experience.
